Love of the Land Starts Early …
And Grows Roots …
Brian’s history with Kelvin goes back to his childhood when Kelvin was a partner with Brian’s father under Pine Congrove and Heck farms. Brian’s love of the family farm led him to K-State where he received a degree in Agribusiness. He leveraged that degree into farm lending and a few years later back to active farm production and farm management. For more than 20 years Brian actively managed more than 4,500 acres in row crops and 400 acres in sod.
And Takes Another Path …
Kelvin left the farm he loved in 1986 when he traded the daily routine of driving a combine for a real estate license and began a highly successful career in commercial real estate. To his background in production agriculture, Kelvin has added commercial real estate designations of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors), as well as ALC (Accredited Land Consultant).
Brian left active farm management in 2013 to spend 3 years with KCoe Isom as a Field Analyst, providing financial tools and consulting that included expertise in budget, cash flow, and production costs to corporate agribusinesses as well as individual farmers and ranchers throughout the Midwest.
And Comes Back Home …
Kelvin and Brian have varied experiences that complement each other nicely. But they have one thing in common, love of land. Their careers have never strayed from helping others enjoy and manage land.
Through Heck Land Company, the team has found a way to share their expertise and their passion with others.
